Cove Cottage accommodates 4 and comes highly rated at 4 stars. A fine Grade ll listed Portland Stone Fisherman's cottage built in the 1800s. It has been refurbished to the very highest standard with original features such as pine floors, doors and beams and a wood burning stove.

Sunset Cottage (pink door) is also available from the same owners and can be seen on this website.

The cottage is situated on the High Street just 200 metres from Chesil Cove and its famous shingle beach. There is a selection of shops, a restaurant, pubs and Chinese and Indian takeaways, all within walking distance. About 5 minutes away you'll find the Sailing Academy (venue for the 2012 Olympic sailing events) and centres for diving and fishing, as well as places of interest like Portland Castle and Tout Quarry (a sculpture park).

Buses and taxis are available close by.

The road up into Fortuneswell is pretty steep and best avoided by those who are unfit.

Let's take a quick tour round, starting downstairs ….

The cosy lounge …. has a wood burning stove; original stripped pine floors and two inviting sofas. It has full gas central heating and everything you could need including television, DVD and CD players as well as games, books and more …. yes even WiFi internet connectivity.

The Kitchen …. is well equipped with a dishwasher, washer dryer, oven, microwave, fridge, coffee maker plus an extensive range of crockery and cutlery and a folding table for four.

A back door leads to a small sitting out area, with BBQ and wetsuit drying area, and a side gate that offers a short walk to Chesil Cove.

Guests will receive a complimentary bottle of wine, chocolates and a welcome breakfast pack so you can make yourself at home straight away!

Up a steepish staircase to the first floor ….
we find a bedroom with a king size double bed, wood beams, stripped pine flooring and plenty of cupboard space. All bedding linen and towels are included in the rental price (as are gas and electricity). Beach towels are also included in the price.

The large tranquil bathroom ….
has a proper shower cubicle, loo, and a roll top bath and beautiful fluffy towels….
just listen to the gulls as you soak away your worries.
